Tanika de Souza - Executive Pastor
Hi, I’m Tanika, one of the co-Pastors of VRI. My role is more specifically the Executive Pastor. Among other things, my responsibilities
include working with the heads of the different ministries, leading the area of Life Groups, membership, and leadership development. I absolutely
love to see people getting connected with others, and finding a spiritual home where they can learn and grow.
BASIC STUFF
I grew up in Washington, DC,
which I absolutely loved. I went to Loyola College in Maryland for my BA in Psychology and Philosophy, and Masters in Counseling Psychology
(candidate for graduation). Unlike my husband, I did attend classes all the time and earned every piece of my degree.
I am married to my high school sweet heart. We live in Ellicott City, MD with our 3 children, Mila, TJ and Destiny. I have the pleasure of being a
stay at home mom and having all the hands on experience of raising my children. It is a blast, but a lot of work, I guess, the same as church planting!!!

Interest & Favorites
- Food: I love all things chocolate, especially Godiva
- Color: Blue, either baby blue or cowboys blue
- Sports: Cowboys and Wizards, I used to think I could play in the NFL. I really wanted to be the first female in the NFL.
- TV: Shows about investigations or where they are figuring something out like House, or Law and Order
- Places: Thailand. I lived there for a year teaching Engligh to kids . . . I wish I could live there again. Anywhere with great spas like Arizona.
- Books: Lately anything about church planting. Overall, books about empowering women and relationships.
- Movies: Comedy, and James Bond type action.
- Things to do: Day Spas, online social networking (facebook), movies, eating out.
- Dislikes: Hearing people chew. Hearing people make a lot of excuses instead of owning their mistakes.
